Why should I choose a DJ over a band?
One of the most important decisions for your reception is the entertainment. Many guests say that it was the reception entertainment that made the evening more memorable. This is because it is often the entertainment that keeps your guests at the reception long after all the formalities are over. When you are trying to decide, just remember a few fundamental difference between a band and a DJ. With a DJ, the music is in the original format, by the original artist, so the songs and styles are those you are familiar with. Most bands only have a limited song list, whereas our DJs have a virtually unlimited music selection. Bands also take breaks throughout the evening. Our music does not stop from the start of the reception until the very end. Finally, and probably most importantly, most bands do not emcee your reception. Our DJs will provide professional emcee services to keep your reception flowing smoothly from start to finish.

What type of music do you play?
Wedding receptions are very unique in the fact that your guests’ age range can vary immensely. Think about the age range of your guests. What is your youngest brother, sister, niece, nephew, friend, etc. that will be attending? Then consider your oldest grandparent, parent, etc. What is the best way to appeal to this broad age range? Sometimes our customers want songs that would normally have inappropriate language. If this is you, rest assured that all of our music is provided by radio station provides, and is edited to clean cuts. We can customize a music presentation that will ensure your guests stay on the dance floor, regardless of age.

Does your pricing include setup and takedown?
We do not charge for setup and takedown. The time listed in all our packages is strictly for disc jockey playing time. Setup and takedown are included at no additional time charges or fees.

How interactive will our DJ be?
Every couple and every reception are unique in their own way. That being said, we are happy to be as interactive or as quiet as your prefer. Our policy is simple, if guests are having a good time and dancing, we generally do not continue to make comments over the microphone. No one wants to remember that wedding reception where the DJ talked all night. This is your day. We can help get your guests on the dance floor and then let the party carry itself from there.

We are considering hiring Elite for our reception, can we come see you at an event?
Many of our brides ask us this question. We must respectfully say that we do not permit our customers to come visit other events. Wedding receptions are private events, just like yours. We would be happy to meet with you at your office, at your venue, or any other convenient location. Like coffee? Starbucks is a favorite meeting place with our customers, so we would love to offer you a no-obligation consultation meeting on us!

I see that all of your packages include lighting, what is included?
Our basic dance floor lighting package includes 2 to 4 lighting fixtures that fill the dance floor with colored, moving, and changing patterns. We do offer larger options in our Premium lighting package.

My friend had colored lights pointing up the walls at her reception and ceremony that
matched her Wedding colors. Can you do this?
Absolutely! Our LED uplights can create 256 million different shades of color, so we can match virtually any color. The only colors that we can not do are brown, black and grey. We offer uplighting in our premium lighting package, or if you are not interested in the additional dance floor lighting, we can just add as few or as many uplights as your prefer.

I’m not sure if the package online includes exactly what I want. Are these your only packages?
The packages we have listed online are merely our most popular packages. Your receptions and/or ceremony are completely custom from start to finish. So, if you don’t think one of our three packages fits your reception, please don’t hesitate to call. We can create a custom package that fits your budget and reception needs.

How do you help in the planning process?
We pride ourselves on our planning assistance. When you sign a contract with us, you receive a username and password to our online client area. Here, we offer extensive planning assistance forms, song databases, and timelines. We can also offer suggestions in person or over the phone if you are looking for additional assistance. All of our online forms are stored on secure servers, so you can login anytime and update your forms, make changes, etc.

What is your attire?
No matter how relaxed or formal your reception is, our disc jockey’s attire will not be a subject of conversation among your guests. Our standard attire is black suit, vest, and tie; however, if you would prefer that we wear something else, we are happy to do so.

My guests are all dancing and having a great time.
We only booked you for four hours, can you play longer?
Not a problem at all! We do not double book events with the same DJ, so we would be happy to play as long as you like. Our over time rates are $150 hour, so we can add as much time as you like. Just come up to your DJ at your reception and let him know you want to go longer and we would be happy to accommodate that request.

Do I have to tip the DJ?
It is not necessary by any means, so we always invite our customers to tip at their discretion. We do not include any gratuity in our pricing, and 100% of your gratuity goes to your DJ.

What else do I need to know?
